2017

This work was in delivered on site at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA). The work was in response of the baroness of both ACCA's physical landscape as well as ACCA's (and the broader art industry's) baroness of new talent, public involvement or diversity. Stretched along the walls of the building are footprints where people have stood. The work responds to these footprints, transfiguring these 'ghosts of visitors past' into physical representations (the shoes). The artist also collected the scraps of paint, materials and rubbish from her art studio floor to 'graffiti' her name along the Centre's walls. These elements are combined with fresh flowers strewn as if in memorial to the 'ghosts'. Combined, the work feels like an empty busy street outside a fortress, reflecting the exclusivity of the art industry.
